Machine Trim Slitter

Specialized trim slitter that takes up little space


Trim_1_2.jpg The machine trim slitter is a slitter that is installed at the side of the paper machine to trim the thinned web into the required original width. The machine trim slitter is installed between the calender machine (that adds luster to the web by using several rolls) and the take-up reel.

As in any of our other slitter units, the machine trim slitter has a built-in contact pressure sensor. The sensor digitally displays the contact pressure of the slitter blade. The display enables delicate matching of blades based on numerical specifications and provides a constantly steady cut surface.

In Maysun’s trim slitters, the top blade and the bottom blade are located on the same slide base. The trim width can be easily changed by moving this slide base laterally with the machine. Due to its compact structure, the slitter can be installed within a space of 500mm in the direction of the web’s flow.

The positioning of the slitter unit can be determined by either manual or electric (NC-enabled) method.

As an option, a mechanism can be added to transport the entire slitter outside. This mechanism facilitates entry of operators into the calender area and enhances operational efficiency.

The merits of introducing the machine trim slitter:
1. Wide range trimming cannot be easily executed using a slitter winder. Installing the trim slitter to conduct the trimming process at the paper making stage will reduce costs for the entire factory.
2. In addition, trimming with a slitter winder generates side-run (rolled edges) that require time for disposal. In contrast, no side-run are generated if trimming is conducted at the paper making stage.
3. Changing the web width to narrow the original width will cause irregular wear of the calender rolls. Introducing the machine trim slitter will enable changes in the original width without changing the web width, thereby avoiding irregular wear of the calendar rolls.
4. Maysun’s machine trim slitter has a high-rigidity structure that ensures extremely low occurrences of web breaks and thus contributes to machine acceleration.
